Improvement
Frontenac head volleyball coach Cassie Buche is starting to see a lot of improvement in the Raiders. After going 0-2 at Girard and missing out on the finals, the Raiders needed something to put them back on track. Last Tuesday Frontenac did just that by beating Humboldt 2-0 (25-19, 25-20) and Yates Center 2-0 (25-11, 25-11). Buche reported the players are getting better at the physical and mental aspect of the game. Recent highlights:
- In the win against Humboldt, Jena Standlee had five kills to go along with her eight service points. Hannah Ketterman added seven service points and 16 assists. Katie Kotzman picked up six kills while Emily Barto had five.
- Against Yates Center, Alyssa Snow led the Raiders with 19 service points and Standlee had five kills and three blocks.
- Kotzman and Barto each picked up four kills while Ketterman had 13 assists.
Buche said that having the trio of Kotzman, Barto and Standlee pick up their game makes the Raiders a better team overall.
